International Professional Driver’s Day!

International Professional Driver’s Day!

On May 12, 2023, we celebrate International Professional Driver’s Day! This is a very important holiday for us because without THEM, our industry wouldn’t be able to exist. Few people realize that working as a driver is not just about transporting goods to their destination.

The work of a driver also involves:

  • Long working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Drivers must adhere to transportation schedules, arrive on time, and ensure they have the appropriate hours of work and rest.
  • Covering long distances, both domestically and internationally, often alone in the cab of a truck, which they often refer to as their second home.
  • Working according to a schedule means working on time, often dealing with obstacles on the road such as traffic jams, roadblocks, or road inspections, which only increase unnecessary stress.
  • Responsibility for road safety, as well as the safety of the cargo or goods being transported. Drivers must be familiar with a multitude of regulations that vary significantly from country to country and properly secure the load to ensure its safe arrival at the destination.
  • Communication – daily contact with dispatchers, road services, and clients must be smooth to be able to react immediately to any logistical issues during transport.
  • Mechanical and technical skills – they often have to deal with breakdowns on the road on their own. It is also physically demanding work as they often assist in loading and unloading goods.
  • In addition to all of this, they must have an immense level of stress resistance and a strong mentality, as they spend many hours, sometimes weeks, on long solo trips.

At this moment, we would like to extend our warmest wishes to ALL drivers and thank you for your contribution and dedication to the development of the transportation industry.

You perform tough and wonderful work! Thank you!
